19|1: 19 questions in 1 minute is our blog series in which we interview Impexium staff members. This week's guest is Matthew Myers, Technical Support Engineer, API’s and Integrations.


  1. What is your role at Impexium? Why did you decide to join the team?  Technical Support Engineer, API’s and Integrations. I wanted to continue to grow in the space and get more hands on with how things fit together.
  1. What have you learned so far about the association industry in your new role? What are you working on right now and how does that impact our customers? The association space is ever changing. You must be adaptable to stay relevant and I think that is where Impexium fits in. I am working on integrations, always integrations.
  1. What did you do prior to joining Impexium? What was the most valuable thing you learned and how does it help you today? I used to Bartend and work Customer Support for a call center. You learn a lot about people, which helped me really listen to clients/customers about their needs.
  1. Who inspires you? James Pegg. That guy knows everything about everything.
  1. What’s the last book you read? Why did you choose it? What did you like or learn from it? Cemetery of Forgotten Books Series, it isn’t the last one I read but the last series I have finished. The description of Barcelona after the Spanish Civil War really engaged me, from the architecture to the general disposition of the characters.
  1. What are you currently watching on Netflix or Amazon Prime? What do you enjoy about it? Amazons the Expanse. Yes, I do like it more than Game of Thrones and I enjoy EVERYTHING about it.
  1. What three traits define you?
    1. Determination
    2. Persistence
    3. Driven (They are all Synonyms of each other which only proves my point.)
  1. If you could visit anywhere in the world you’ve never been, where would you go? New Zealand so I could go on an adventure (Lord of the Rings Reference).
  1. Who did you first see live in concert?  Who was the last live concert you attended? Goo Goo Dolls was my first concert but the last one I attended was a Snoop Dogg Concert.
  1. What was your favorite TV show growing up?  Hercules.
  1. What’s your favorite indoor/outdoor activity? Food.  For both Indoor/Outdoor, if the weather is permitting of course.
  1. What would you most like to tell yourself at age 13? Where to invest in the stock market.
  1. If you could learn to do anything, what would it be?  Play the Violin.
  1. If you could have one superpower, what would it be? I am not sure about a superpower, but I would love to be able to move to the beach and become a writer. I’d pick that over superpowers any day.
  1. If you could go back in time to any era, which era would it be and why? The 1800’s. The world was still full of mystery.
  1. In the Impexium kitchen, what is your go-to snack? All of them. (See question 18)
  1. How do you define success? Success is moving forward. You may not reach your goal today, but as long as you’re closer than yesterday then you are doing great.
  1. Ten years ago, who did you think you would be now? In better shape.
